Own signalling solutions
At Indra, we develop our own signalling solutions, completely digital, based on our disruptive technology and experience in railway management and operation systems, which allows the deployment of signalling systems with interchangeable multi-manufacturer components.
We have developed an open, flexible, and interoperable architecture that operates under the requirements of the European EULYNX initiative, thus achieving a common and standardized interface between our digital interlocking and the rest of the signalling systems. Our signalling systems operate according to the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 and represent a qualitative leap in promoting global, safe, and barrier-free operation.
This architecture facilitates the incorporation of a secure IoT platform, which combines the capabilities of the Internet of Things with the highest standards of safety (SIL-4) and cybersecurity, to connect all elements wirelessly and allow data exchange, improving operation and offering new additional services such as asset management, predictive maintenance, or the incorporation of smart grids.

- Our ERTMS Level 2 solution ensures the safe control of railway traffic, protecting against overspeeding and ensuring compliance with signaling conditions.
- With SIL4 certification and full interoperability according to European standards, the solution allows for centralized and efficient management of railway operations while adapting to any operational scenario and interlocking technology.
- Its integrated simulation environment, along with real-time interfaces for control centers and traffic management systems, ensures complete factory validation, minimizing on-track testing and accelerating commissioning.
Punctual supervision with maximum reliability and operational efficiency
- Our ASFA Digital system monitors the train's speed in real-time and activates automatic braking in case of any signal violations, ensuring safety with SIL4 certification.
- The system consists of onboard elements in the rolling stock and beacons deployed along the track.
- With quick installation, low cost, and full compatibility with existing infrastructures, it is the ideal solution for conventional networks and as a backup in high-speed scenarios.

- Our digital interlocking solution is based on an open, interoperable architecture, natively compatible with the European EULYNX standard and SIL 4 certified.
- It allows for the agile and secure integration of any railway asset, even those not originally compatible, thanks to adapter units and intelligent controllers.
- In this way, commercial hardware is combined with generic interlocking software and client-specific tools, ensuring vendor independence, advanced cybersecurity, and faster and more cost-effective implementation.
Connected infrastructure for smarter and safer railway operations
- Our railway IoT solutions digitise infrastructure and rolling stock through sensors, wireless networks, and advanced positioning systems, taking digital communications to their highest level.
- On the track, we deploy networks to ensure secure (SIL-4) and cyber-secure communication between sensors and signalling systems, control objects wirelessly under EULYNX standards, and enable safety zones for track maintenance, alerting of approaching trains.
- Onboard, our solutions ensure train integrity and monitor its composition, load, and structure, while offering precise positioning, enabling secure wireless communications, and, among other things, increasing network capacity with virtual coupling solutions.
- We digitise the track with intelligent portals that, using LiDAR, RADAR, and AI vision, monitor train composition and with electronic sleepers that, among other things, detect floods, fallen objects, and displacements, optimising safety and maintenance.
